Major Curriculum Announcement!

Dear Seton Family,

We are writing to you with a significant announcement regarding the performing arts curriculum at Seton Catholic Schools. In February, Mr. Tim Love gave us verbal notice that he planned to retire at the end of the current school year. As many of you know, Mr. Love has served as a part-time Band instructor at the Jr. High/High School and Elementary School for the last nine years. He has been instrumental in developing our music program and helping our students learn and grow in a different way. Citing personal and family reasons, including a strong desire to spend more time with his grandchildren, Mr. Love is ready to pass the baton. A truly outstanding educator, a genuine Christian role model, and a dear friend, Mr. Love will definitely be missed.

As a true testament to the foundational work done by Mr. Love during his tenure here, Seton Catholic Schools Board of Directors recently approved our request for the creation of a full-time music teaching position that will cover all grade levels. This new position will take effect starting with the 2015-2016 school year.

We are very pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Evan Schroeder as our new music teacher. In many ways, Evan’s new ministry at Seton Catholic Schools represents a true Homecoming for him. Evan attended Seton Catholic Schools throughout his formative compulsory education years; graduating from SCHS in 2011. As an 8th grader, Evan was among the first students to take band with Mr. Love when he joined our staff back in 2006. Evan’s mother, Terri, teaches 6th grade at our Elementary School. Evan’s brothers are graduates—David (2011), Adam (2013)—and his sister, Megan, will graduate in 2016.

Please join us in thanking Tim Love for selflessly sharing his many gifts and talents with our students over the years. We are blessed, indeed! Please also join us in thanking Evan for his enthusiastic “yes” to his calling here at Seton Catholic Schools.
