The Seton Catholic family would like to congratulate Evelyn Miller on her retirement. Eve fifth year of working as cook at Seton Catholic High School; following seven years as a volunteer in the cafeteria.
When asked what she will miss the most Evelyn said, “Getting to know the new 7th graders every year is challenging, and then watching the students as they grow and mature through their years at Seton High. Also I will miss all of the staff and my many faithful volunteers without whom the cafeteria could not exist.”
One of Miss Evelyn's favorite memories includes volunteer, Judy Houseman. “Judy dumped at a third of the chicken tenders for the high school lunch trying to put it on the steam table. Students were standing right there waiting to be served. Judy's reaction was priceless! She ran to the prep table in the back, bent over the table and leaned on both forearms with her head down,” Evelyn shared. “Actually any day when Judy and her sister, Joyce Deitz (former SCES teacher) were there was a delight! They volunteered on Wednesday's along with Logan Patterson doing dishes. Those two are the closest sisters I have ever known.”
Evelyn plans to spend her retirement years “doing whatever I want to do. You know, just living a retirement lifestyle. That doesn't mean I'll never be around. Can't get rid of me that easily!”
The Seton Catholic family would like to thank Evelyn for her 12 years of dedication to our students and staff. May your retirement be everything you want it to be! Congratulations!
