Congratulations to freshman cross country runner Gwynie Falcone who was recently named WKBV Wetzel Auto Wayne County Athlete of the Week. Gwynie was consistent all year and steadily improved throughout the year as well. She finished 2nd in the conference meet earlier in the year, which earned her All-Conference honors. She finished 5th at sectionals. She finished 7th at regionals to advance to semi-state. She was the highest finishing Wayne County runner in the girls race and she set a new personal record at the time with a time of 20:36.6. She then set another personal record at semi-state the following Saturday with a 20:09.1. Way to go Gwynie!
