Senior guard Megan Schroeder reached a milestone in her career last evening. Joining Desmond Bane, Mark Dirksen and older brother, Adam Schroeder, Megan reached 1,000 career points at Seton Catholic High School. Further, she is the only female to accomplish reach this goal.
Schroeder thought she still needed four points to attain the goal when her shot went in just before the halftime buzzer. She was surely surprised when the crowd erupted!
"I thought I wasn't there yet," she said. "Then everybody exploded. I was just like, 'Wow, I'm with my brother in the 1,000-point club.'"
Schroeder was honored after the game, a moment made sweeter by at overtime victory.
"It was surreal," Schroeder said. "I wasn't really trying to worry about the points. I didn't score them early. I was trying to win the game. That's what my focus was, and I'm glad both happened. It was just a good game."
