Seton Catholic’s school bus affectionately known as “Big Blue” is a 1993 model year. At 22 years old, she is older than any of the youth she transports. Although still safe to operate, the Indiana DOT has informed us this will be the last year she will pass inspections because of her deteriorating body condition.
Our school buses are used to transport athletes to out of town contests, by Seton Catholic students for field trips, as well as the Youth Group for out of town trips. A potential replacement for Blue has been found. It is estimated that we will need $40,000 to purchase this much newer bus, and make any necessary updates so it will meet the requirements to be used as an activity bus for our youth.
Thanks to the generosity of two faithful supporters of our community, a matching grant has been promised. For every dollar donated over the next three weeks, your donation will be matched up to $20,000.
How can you get involved and continue the growth at Seton Catholic Schools? Please make your tax deductible check out to Seton Catholic Schools. Make a note on the memo line of "Bus Fund" for the matching grant to apply. Donations can be dropped off at any of the school offices, the Richmond Catholic Office, or dropped in the collection basket at mass. Questions? Call Linda Westjohn at 765-962-3902, ext. 21.
