Seton Catholic High School, led by first year principal, Mr. John Markward, announced to students and families on Thursday, a new master schedule plan for the 2018 -2019 school year.
Under the new plan, the school will move away from its traditional 7-class period schedule (with a zero hour band option for students before school) to a 5-day modified block schedule. Under the plan, students will have four classes per day with longer class periods meeting on alternating days, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the week will wrap up with students attending all eight classes for a shorter time period.
The addition of a Student Resource Time (SRT) and Advisory period are added, allowing the faculty to provide more assistance and attention to their individual students. The zero hour will disappear, and provide more musical art opportunities for students.
Course offerings for the 2018 -2019 school year are being expanded as well. To an already rigorous college prep program that includes Advanced Placement and college credit offerings, Seton Catholic High School will be adding several new courses next year. Web Design, Computer Science Programming, Introduction to Communications, Journalism, and Music Theory and Composition name just a few.
