It was a big season for boys basketball at Seton Catholic High School!
The varsity boys basketball team finished the season with a record of 23-4. The 23 wins is a new school record. They took third place in the 16-team Wettig Tournament while defeating 4A schools Richmond and Warren Central and 3A Hamilton Heights. They also defeated every Wayne County school this year. They went 5-0 in games at Chuck Mosey Memorial Gym, extending their winning streak in our home gym to 20 games. They finished the season with their third consecutive sectional championship.
Desmond Bane and Billie Webster III were named PAAC All-Conference. Bane was a 2-time IndyStar Athlete of the Week, 2-time IndyStar Athlete of the Month, 4-time WKBV Wetzel Auto Wayne County Athlete of the Week, & was the Wettig Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Trent Reichley was a WKBV Wetzel Auto Wayne County Athlete of the Week. Bane set school records for career points, career steals, career 3-pointers made, career free throws made, season points, season rebounds, season assists, single game points, single game steals, and single game 3-pointers made. He extended school records for career rebounds and career assists.
The JV boys basketball team finished its season with a very impressive 14-2 record and gained valuable experience that will be pivotal for success for next year.
