Senior Jenna Barker, who was recently named the WKBV Wetzel Auto Wayne County Athlete of the Week, will run one final race as a Seton Catholic Cardinal, this Friday, June 1. Jenna will compete in the State track finals in the 800m race on what is soon to be her new "home track" at Indiana University.
In last Tuesday's sectional at Connersville, Jenna won the 1600m and the 800m. This was the fourth consecutive year that she has won both races at sectionals. In the 1600m, a new sectional record was set with her time of 5:13.04. Jenna also set the sectional record in the 800m last year. Throughout her four years in high school, Jenna won an amazing 13 individual sectional titles (10 in track and 3 in cross country).
After a fantastic sectional performance, Jenna followed up with another great 800m race at the Shelbyville regional meet -capturing the first regional track title of her career with a time of 2:16.73. This advanced her to the state track meet for the fourth consecutive year. We can't wait to see how she finishes!
