Congratulations to Seton Catholic senior basketball stand-out Desmond Bane who just signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Texas Christian University! Texas Christian is a private school in Fort Worth, Texas with an approximate enrollment of 8,894 undergraduate students. While there, Desmond will study business and play basketball for the Horned Frogs.
During his career at Seton Catholic, Bane has scored 1,991 points surpassing Adam Schroeder’s (’13) previous record during the 2015 -2016 season. Bane also holds the school’s steal record at 169, assists at 448, and rebounds at 865. With 223 blocks, he was just six shy of the school’s record 229, set in 2013.
Bane led the Cardinals to three consecutive sectional titles since 2014. He gained national attention in March when he had a monster dunk go viral during sectional play against local foe the Blue River Vikings. The video went viral overnight -ending up on the ESPN Neighborhood Top 10 list for the week.
Receiving numerous honors the last four years, Bane closed out his high school career by being named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Supreme 15 All-State team, the Associated Press Third Team All-State team, and the All-USA Indiana First team.
Finally, high school basketball will be wrapped up for Bane as a member of the Indiana All-Star team. The Indiana All-Stars will face off against the Kentucky All-Stars at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse on June 11; and on June 12 at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.
Best wishes to Desmond on a very bright and successful future at TCU!
