There are two national awards given to graduating seniors in high school bands across America. The first is the Patrick S Gilmore award, given for outstanding achievement and commitment to the band. Receiving this award is trombonist, Sarah Gray.
The second, the John Philip Sousa award, recognizes a graduating senior who demonstrates outstanding dedication, superior musicianship, leadership, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation in the ensemble. The John Philip Sousa Award has become a nationwide symbol of excellence in musical achievement and recipients of this award are documented into a national online registry. Receiving this award is clarinetist, Sarah Dickman.
Both of these awards are displayed by plaques that are showcased just outside of the band room. Our 2018 Senior winners have been added to these plaques- congratulations!
