Our very own Seton Catholic 5th grade student, Aubrey Bihl, competed at the state level with her science fair project titled "What Quenches Your Thirst" earlier this month.
"I was surprised and happy to learn that my project was selected to go to the state science fair," Aubrey said. "It felt good to be rewarded for my hard work," she added.
Due to the current pandemic, the state competition was transitioned from a live, person-to-person fair the last weekend in March to a PowerPoint presentation the first weekend of April. After converting her oral presentation to a five to seven slide PowerPoint, she decided to add the optional video to better explain the project.
We are very proud of the hard work she exhibited throughout the science fair process, and for going the extra mile while adapting to the necessary change in competition style. Although she did not place at the state level, making it to state is an accomplishment she will always remember.
Aubrey's advice to younger students who will face science fair in 5th grade, "Choose an experiment on something that interests you. The project will be more fun that way!"
