Seton Catholic Schools would like to congratulate Mrs. Cathy Cochran on her retirement. This year was Cathy’s 44thyear of teaching! She taught at St. Gabriel’s in Connersville for seven years, St. Roch in Indianapolis for twelve years, and Seton Catholic for 25 years. During her 44 years of teaching, she has taught Kinder-garten, 3rdand 5thgrade.
When asked about her favorite memory while teaching at Seton Catholic, Cathy shared, “The support I have had over the years. Seton Catholic has always been there for me. We are truly a family, through the good times and the bad, we have all stuck together. I have so many memories from the children. One thing stands out and that is all the hugs I have gotten from the children. Even in the 3rdgrade, they still want hugs!!”
Another fond memory she shared was about 5thgrade, “I always laugh when I think of something that happened in 5thgrade. I had some Hershey Kisses and when I asked who wanted a kiss, they all looked at me but one student reared back and said, “NOT ME!!” When he saw the candy, he jumped up and was begging for one.”
“I will truly miss the children. They keep me young and a smile on my face. I have had so many wonderful memories. Teaching has been a blessing. I can honestly say I love what I do!”
Cathy plans to help take care of her elderly father, and spend time with her three beautiful grandchildren dur-ing retirement. Other than that, she is looking forward doing whatever she wants to do!
Thank you to Mrs. Cathy Cochran for 25 years of dedication to teaching the students of Seton Catholic Schools! Not only teaching the academics, but also teaching them about your love for Jesus and the faith. We pray that you will have many happy memories with your family during your retirement!
